When
fledgling Los Angeles actress Babe Mahler (Ellen Goldwasser) decides to
go on a local talk show, she must first endure the unsolicited opinions of her
friends and family. Peppered with humorous insights about our culture's tendency
to tell all, "Show & Tell" takes us through the three days
leading up to Babe's appearance as she reviews her life and her languishing career.
In a sly final twist, Babe reveals that she's a better actress than anyone thought
possible. Perhaps writer-director Dean Pollack mines his background in
reality programming for the tidbits that provide the behind-the-scenes fun of
the talk show, aptly named "Show & Tell." Goldwasser's
performance is solid, and Neill Barry's turn as her best friend Michael
provides the film with one of its more endearing characters. --Alison
